Chief Secretary Anil Khachi presided over a meeting held here today regarding removal of black spots from roads in the state. The meeting was attended by senior officers of National Highways Authority of India, Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department, Border Roads Organization and Transport Department.
The Chief Secretary directed all the agencies related to road construction to remove black spots on the roads in the state on priority so as to avoid any possibility of accidents. He said that engineering techniques should also be improved to eliminate any possibility of black spots during road construction. The efforts should also be made to sensitize all field agencies regarding black spots. He said that the executing agencies should ensure proper inspection of the works during the construction of the roads.
Anil Khachi said that the road safety has also been included in the theme for Swarnim Himachal Programmes being organised on the occasion of completion of 50 years of statehood of State. He directed the officers to prepare an action plan related to it.
Principal Secretary Transport K.K. Pant, Director Transport Anupam Kashyap and senior officials of other departments were present in the meeting.
