Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has announced opening of Block Development Officer’s office (BDO) at Darlaghat in Arki Assembly constituency of Solan district to facilitate the people of the area. He made this announcement while addressing a public meeting at Arki after performing inaugurations and foundation stones laying ceremonies of developmental projects worth Rs. 41.33 crore.
The Chief Minister announced opening of PWD sub-division at Jainagar, Jal Shakti sub-division at Kunihar, Patwar circles at Beral and Kunihar. He declared that Sayar Mela of Arki would be celebrated as State level fair. He said that HRTC Depot would also be opened at Arki provided it fulfils the justification.
He also announced upgradation of primary health centres Darlaghat and Loharghat to community health centres and health sub-centre Bagga to primary health centre. He said that Baridhar would be developed from tourism point of view.
Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated developmental projects of Rs. 28.84 crore including Rs 3.15 crore Community Health Centre building (level-IV) Darlaghat, Rs. 7.12 crore Government College building at Diggal, Rs. 2.37 crore Arki Kharahatti road and Rs. 16.20 crore Kunihar Bainj-ki-Hatti Shaily Brahamapukhar road.
He laid foundation stones of Rs. 89 lakh renovation and modernization of 33/11 KV sub-station Kunihar, Rs. 4.51 crore augmentation of old water supply schemes in GP Daseran, Dhundan, Hanuman Barog and Surajpur from Ali khud in tehsil Arki, Rs. 1.99 crore improvement of water distribution system in GP Palog, Daghogi, Kotli, Saryanj, Bakhalag and Kunihar area, Rs. 2.07 crore Khajlaghatti to Katal Karyalu road, Rs. 46 lakh agriculture sale centre, store-cum- residential accommodation at Arki, Rs. 80 lakh office-cum-residence building of SMS (Agriculture) at Kunihar and Rs. 1.77 crore Sub Market Yard at Hanuman Barog.
Jai Ram Thakur said that people of Arki area gave wholehearted support to the BJP during last Lok Sabha election for which the leadership would always remain grateful to them. He said that the Covid-19 pandemic has adversely affected day-to-day life of the people of the country and the State as well. He urged the people to strictly follow covid-19 appropriate behaviour as the pandemic was not yet over. He said that during the pandemic the State Government ensured that there was not dearth of oxygen, ventilators, medicines and other essentials in the State.
While accusing the previous Congress Government of ignoring the health sector in the State, Chief Minister said that there were only two oxygen plants in the State, whereas today the State has about 10 functional plants and 28 more were being setup very soon. He said that the State Government during the lockdown brought about 2.50 lakh Himachalis stranded in different parts of the country to their home. He thanked the Prime Minister for effectively handling the Covid situation in the country. He said that the State has toiled hard to make up for the time wasted due to the pandemic by accelerating the pace of development. The State was also a front runner in the country in matter of vaccination against the virus. He also detailed various developmental and welfare schemes launched by the State Government during the last about three and a half years. He said that during the pandemic the State Government virtually inaugurated and laid foundation stones of developmental projects worth about Rs 103 crore for Arki Vidhan Sabha area.
Various social, cultural and religious organizations honoured the Chief Minister on the occasion.
Chief Minister also launched the campaign ‘Har Ghar Lehraye Tiranga’ on the occasion.
Member of Parliament and State BJP President Suresh Kashyap thanked the Chief Minister for dedicating developmental projects worth about Rs 42 crore for Arki area. He said that Chief Minister has ensured balanced and equitable development of the State during the last three and a half years. He said that during the Corona pandemic the Chief Minister ensured effective steps to contain the spread of this virus and the steps taken by the State Government for covid-19 management have been appreciated even by the Centre as well as various state governments.
Former MLA Govind Ram Sharma thanked the Chief Minister for evincing keen interest in development of the area. He said that adequate funds should be provided for proper maintenance of roads in the area. He also urged the Chief Minister for opening of HRTC Depot and Nursing College at Arki and developmental block at Darlaghat.
Chairman, HIMCOFED and BJP leader from the area Rattan Singh Pal thanked the Chief Minister for dedicating developmental projects worth crores of rupees for the area. He also thanked the Chief Minister for virtually dedicating developmental projects worth Rs 103 crore during the corona pandemic period. He thanked the Chief Minister for opening a BDO Office at Darlaghat and Jal Shakti Sub Division at Kunihar.
Arki BJP Mandal President D.K. Upadhaya welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion.
