CM directs committees to work with greater zeal to curb Covid-19 in State

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while presiding over the meeting held here today to interact with the four Committees constituted recently to ensure optimum utilization and mobilization of resources said that all these Committees must work with greater commitment, coordination and dedication to ensure that the State succeeds in curbing the spread of the corona virus in the State.

Chief Minister directed the Logistic Committee to ensure effective monitoring of availability of oxygen as per requirement at all facilities besides ensuring timely placement of orders of oxygen cylinder. He said that the Committee must also timely decide movement of oxygen cylinder as per requirement/ patient load both inter district and inter facility. He said that the Committee must also ensure that PSA plants were made operational immediately. He said that effective plan must be prepared for creation of additional bed capacity at various levels.

Jai Ram Thakur said that efforts must also be made to augment the oxygen production in the State, besides expediting work on new oxygen plants. He said that uninterrupted power supply to all the oxygen plants must also be ensured so that the production process goes smoothly. He said that in order to reduce fatality rate the patients under home isolation must be admitted in hospital at the earliest

Chief Minister asked the Corporate Social Responsibility Coordination/Contribution Committee to motivate the corporate houses in the State to generously contribute towards the HP SDMA Covid-19 Fund, besides helping the State in fighting the pandemic. He said that the Committee must also coordinate with all prospective donors and industrial associations to liberally contribute towards the fund. He said that the Committee would effectively liaise with all facilities in the state to assess the gaps in resources and mobilize the resources and ensure that the items donated are properly accounted for and promptly routed to various facilities in the state.

Jai Ram Thakur directed the Media /IEC Committee to effectively disseminate updated data and correct information to media besides eliminating information gap at all levels. He said that the media must be provided information well in time and must be apprised with factual condition. He said that efforts must be made to provide media with desired information well in time for which the Committee must also hold regular briefings.

Chief Minister said that Covid-19 patients/ambulance management committee must ensure smooth and hassle free transportation of Covid patients to the hospitals and back home. He said that requisition of private vehicles could also be done for transportation of the patients by properly modifying the same with separating the patient and driving space by using a transparent shield to  ensure proper inter district movement of patients etc.  He directed the Committee to ensure smooth movement of patients to appropriate facility after analysing their symptoms and would also take decision about inter district or inter facility movement of patients. He said that the committee must also take decision on movement or procurement of essential medicines and ensure that there was no shortage of any drug in any covid facility.

Jai Ram Thakur said that efforts were on to increase bed capacity in the State. He said that an effective plan was need of the hour for creation of additional bed capacity in the State.

Earlier in the day, Chief Minister visited INDUS Hospital and Army Hospital (Walker Hospital) to explore possibilities of using these hospitals for treatment of Covid patients. He has discussions with Lt. General Raj Shukla of ARTRAC and Dr. Balak Ram Verma of INDUS Hospital. He also visited ISBT Parking at Tutikandi to explore possibilities of using the top floor as makeshift Covid Hospital.

Arindam Chaudhary, Managing Director, HP State Electronic Development Corporation and head of Logistic Committee, Abid Hussain, Director Urban Development head of Corporate Social Responsibility Coordination/ Contribution Committee, Deputy MD NHM HP Dr. Gopal Beri, and member of Media and IEC Committee, and SSO, NHM  and Head of The Covid-19 patient and ambulance management committee Dr. Rajesh Thakur, made detailed presentation on regarding their respective committees.

Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, Health Minister Dr. Rajiv Saizal, Political Advisor to Chief Minister Trilok Jamwal, Chief Secretary Anil Khachi, Additional Chief Secretaries, R.D. Dhiman and J.C. Sharma, Advisor to the Chief Minister Dr. R.N. Batta, Secretary Health Amitabh Awasthi and members of the Committee and other senior officers attended the meeting.
