CM stresses on enhancing sampling for Covid virus

Effective mechanism must be evolved by establishing a dedicated team to ensure proper treatment of the covid patients in home isolation to regularly monitor their health parameters besides motivating the people to voluntarily come forward for covid vaccination. This was stated by the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while presiding over the meeting to review the Covid-19, review of draught situation in the district and progress in implementation of Chief Minister’s announcements at Bachat Bhawan in Hamirpur today.

Chief Minister said that efforts must be made to enhance sampling by specially targeting hostel students, staff, persons engaged in public transport, random sampling in market places, testing of caterers and cooks etc. He said that home isolated patients must be contacted atleast twice a day by the local ASHA workers and they should be regularly called by the doctors. He said that large scale IEC on the theme of ‘No Mask-No Service’ must be launched to cover shops, offices, hotels and general public to sensitize the people regarding strictly following guidelines issued by the State Government from time to time. He said that continuous appeals and awareness campaign must be launched for generating awareness regarding COVID protocols for pilgrims visiting the religious places and shrines in the district.

Jai Ram Thakur said that the oxygen plant at the medical college Hamirpur must be completed at the earliest and bed capacity must be increased so as to meet out any eventuality. He said that people must be persuaded to avoid more gathering during various social gathering such as marriages, mundans and katha etc. He said that efforts must be made for increasing the capacity of beds for the covid patients. He said that organizing religious jagarans, particularly indoor was causing a sharp spread of this virus. He said that the district administration must motivate the people to avoid organizing such events for the time being.

Chief Minister said that regular monitoring of health parameters of the old and covid patients with comorbidity in home isolation must be ensured.

While reviewing the preparedness plan against prospective drought like situation in the district, Chief Minister said that all possible remedial measures must be taken to tackle the situation arisen due to deficiency of rainfall in the district. He said that special thrust must be laid on rejuvenation of water sources and people should be motivated to ensure optimum use of water and avoid its wastage.

He also launched Him Red Cross mobile app developed by the district administration on this occasion.

Secretary Health Amitabh Awasthi said that the State Government would provide all logistic support to the district administration to effectively fight the pandemic. He said that special thrust must be laid on three “Ts”  that is testing, tracing and treatment, as this was only mantra for containing spread of this virus.

Deputy Commissioner Hamirpur Debsweta Banik said that the district till date has 709 active cases and has reported 57 covid related deaths. She said that as many as 620 people have been kept in home isolation and 1,05,243 tests have been conducted. She said that out of the total active cases in the district 145 cases were in Tauni Devi block of the district. She said that a 15 bedded dedicated Covid Ward was being established soon and the PSA (Oxygen Generation Plant) would be established within the next few days. She said that capacity of testing lab was being enhanced to more sampling. She said that 1,11,175 people have been administered first dose of vaccine till date in the district, where as 10,501 people have been administered second dose. She said that special stress was being laid on IEC regarding Covid appropriate behaviour by the people, by actively involving the PRIs and ULBs. She said that there were 233 active containment zones in the district at micro level.

Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Virender Kanwar, MLAs Narender Thakur, and Kamelesh Thakur, Chairperson Bal Adhikar Sanrakshan Aayog Vandhana Gularia, Chairperson Zila Parishad Babli Devi, Chairperson vice chairpersons and members of Nagar Parishad and other district Officers and various stakeholders such as representatives of Vyapar Mandals attended the meeting.
