Appreciating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vigorous and dynamic leadership, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the BJP was completely different from other political parties due to its working method and unique thinking. It was a result of the charismatic leadership of Narendra Modi that today India was making its own identity in the world and the country had been successful in resolving many decades-old controversial issues like Ram Janma Bhoomi, Triple Talaq, Articles 370 and 35A etc.  Today, no country could raise its eyes towards India because the country had now learnt to respond to the enemy in its own language.

He was speaking during the concluding session of the meeting of the working committee of the State Bharatiya Mahila Morcha held in Bharwain in Una district today. He said that the role of the organization was important in the upliftment of any party and the Himachal Pradesh Mahila Morcha had helped to empower the BJP in the state by making its role meaningful.

Jai Ram Thakur said that the Mahila Morcha had carved out a distinct identity not only in the state but also in the country due to its dedication, service spirit and devotion to duty. In addition to the activities of the general party, the Mahila Morcha had created a special identity among the people during the Covid-19. During this time, the Mahila Morcha not only distributed masks free of cost to the people, but its members also provided ration and financial support in addition to serving food to the needy.

He said that the enthusiasm and dedication of women could be gauged from the fact that the participation of women in the Panchayati Raj elections this time was 62 percent. He urged the Mahila Morcha office bearers to identify potential competent leadership from among these newly elected representatives so that the party could take full advantage of their qualifications. He said that in the year 2009, Himachal Pradesh became the second state in the country to give fifty percent reservation to women in Panchayati Raj Institutions.

The Chief Minister urged the officials of Mahila Morcha to work at ground level for the mission repeat in the year 2022, so that the people could know about the work done by the state government for their welfare. He said that Himachal’s leadership has carved out a distinct identity at the national level due to its hard work, ability, devotion, loyalty and service spirit. Presently, J.P Nadda was the national president of the world’s biggest party BJP, who started his journey as an ABVP worker and made a distinct identity not only in the state but also at the national level.

Jai Ram Thakur said that women play an important role not only in the upliftment of their family but also society and if a woman was supported in the family, then the whole family becomes literate. The power of women in the BJP was also reflected in the Assembly elections held three years ago and the same scenario would be repeated. The literacy rate of women in the state was very high, which results in our participation in social activities.

The Chief Minister while referring to the indecent behaviour of the Congress Party with the Governor during the current Assembly session said that this shows the frustration of the Congress party and it was clear that their leadership was becoming hollow day by day. It would be better that the State Congress Party publically apologize to the Governor for this indecent behaviour as the people did not expect such indecent and irresponsible behaviour. The Congress leaders must remember that there was no one above the law, whether they were elected representatives or members of any political party. He quipped that it may be the result of the Congress party’s defeat in the last two consecutive Lok Sabha elections, the Assembly elections and the recently concluded Panchayati Raj Institutions elections.

Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Virendra Kanwar, Industries Minister Bikram Singh, State BJP President and MP Suresh Kashyap, MP Indu Goswami, MLA Vishal Neharia, Vice President Himuda Praveen Sharma, State BJP Mahila Morcha President Rashmi Dhar Sood, General Secretary Trilok Jamwal and Members of BJP Mahila Morcha Working Committee including Vandana Guleria, Anita Siphiya were present on the occasion.
