Governor distributes health equipments
Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, who is also the President of State Red Cross Society, handed over health equipment to the Health and Family Welfare Department at Raj Bhavan today. Dr. Sadhna Thakur, Chairperson, State Red Cross Hospital Welfare Section was also present on the occasion.
The health equipment included 15 ventilators, 40 oxygen concentrators, 640 PPE kits, masks, etc.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that the Red Cross has played an important role during the COVID pandemic. He said that relief material, health equipment and other kits have been made available through the Red Cross from time to time. Apart from this, Red Cross was also organizing blood donation camps and awareness campaigns, he added and said that this sequence of service to humanity should go on more strongly. He said that the active participation of the members of the Red Cross should be increased further. He said that the proper use of health equipment which have been made available and have been given in the past should be ensured so that the eligible people get its benefits.
Dr Sadhna Thakur said that during the Corona pandemic, relief was given especially to the poor people by providing food and health kits etc through the Red Cross. She said that ‘Pramarsh Seva’ through doctors, started by the Red Cross was also appreciated.
Priyatu Mandal, Secretary to Governor, Dr. Anita Mahajan, Director, Health and Family Welfare and Deputy Director Dr. Ramesh Chand were also present on the occasion.
