Governor releases book ‘High on Kasol’

Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar today released the book ‘High on Kasol’ written by senior journalist Aditya Kant at Raj Bhavan.

While appreciating the efforts of the author, the Governor said that drug addiction was a social evil and it was not related to any specific person but it affects the whole society in large. Therefore, everyone needs to work together in this direction so that the young generation could be saved from this evil. He said that the author has made a commendable effort in raising this burning issue.

Shri Arlekar said that the educational institutions were being targeted by the drug peddlers. He expressed concern that drug addiction was spreading in ‘Devbhoomi’ Himachal Pradesh also. He would give a comprehensive look to the campaign against drug abuse in Himachal Pradesh and it would be carried out in an effective manner. He said that all sections of the societies would be involved in this campaign.

Appreciating the efforts of the author, he said that this book should be translated into Hindi and regional languages also so that the message could reach to more and more people.

Aditya Kant apprised that earlier U.T. Administrator and Governor of Punjab V.P. Badnore and Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat had released this book in their respective states. He expressed his gratitude to the Governor for releasing this book in Himachal Pradesh.
