Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Sarveen Chaudhary chaired the 45th meeting of Board of Directors of H.P. Minorities Finance and Development Corporation.
While presiding over the meeting, Minister said the State government is committed towards the welfare of the Minorities, and has been working with dedication for their development. She asked the officers of the Corporation to make reinforcing efforts for successful implementation of welfare schemes of the State Government for people belonging to Minorities sections like Muslims, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis, Christians and Sikh of the State. Minister said that more focused approach needs to be ensured towards issues related to the minority communities. She also called for visionary action and said that with greater efforts and coordination the welfare of minorities would be ensured.
During the meeting, Minister was apprised that the Corporation has disbursed a term loan and education loan of Rs. 54.90 crore to 2763 beneficiaries of Minorities communities till date. The Corporation is also Channelizing Agency of National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation and has distributed loan of Rs. 41.13 crore to 1645 disabled persons, thus benefitting 4408 persons in the State with an amount of Rs. 96.03 crore, till date since inception of the Corporation.
In the year 2018-19, about 118 persons were distributed loan of an amount of Rs. 444.45 lakh, where as in 2019-20, about 119 persons received an amount of Rs. 500.64 lakh and in the year 2020-21, as many as 128 persons were distributed loan of Rs. 601.15 lakh, achieving the targets of National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation.
Minister said the present government has distributed loan to 196 disabled persons through HP Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation, till date.
ACS Sanjay Gupta, Director Kritika Kulhari, Special Secretary Rakesh Kanwar, Company Secretary Kanwal Arora, Manager C.L. Sharma and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
