Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur was called on by Secretary, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India, Apurva Chandra here today. He apprised the Chief Minister that the Ministry would provide full support to the State Government to start and run hospital and dispensary under the Employee’s State Insurance Corporation Scheme. He appreciated the good performance of the State in implementing the Labour Reforms.
Secretary, Ministry of Labour & Employment, GoI Apurva Chandra along with Director General Labour Bureau, Ministry of Labour and Employment, D.P.S. Negi reviewed the status of formulation of rules pursuant to passing of four Labour Codes by Government of India.
Principal Secretary, H.P. Labour and Employment, Kamlesh Kumar Pant welcomed the dignitaries.
During the meeting, Principal Secretary apprised that the proposed draft of Code on Wages (Himachal Pradesh) Rules, 2020 and draft of Industrial Relations (Himachal Pradesh) Rules, 2021 have been prepared and are under active consideration by the State Government. Similarly, the Draft of Social Security (Himachal Pradesh) Rules, 2021 and H.P. State Rules under on Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020 will be framed by March, 2021.
Labour Commissioner-cum-Director of Employment H.P. Neeraj Kumar, Secretary, H.P. Building and other Construction Workers Board Vikas Sood and other senior officers of Labour and Employment Department were also present in the meeting.
