A special plantation drive was organised on the occasion of 75th Independence Day by Himachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority in collaboration with State Forest Department at Baghi Jubbar near Shimla, today. Acting Chief Justice, Himachal Pradesh High Court Justice Ravi Malimath inaugurated the plantation drive by planting sapling of deodar on the occasion.
The plantation drive was organised with an objective to improve the green cover in the area and to motivate the people of the state. About 550 saplings were planted in 1.5 hectare area during the plantation drive.
HP High Court Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan also planted sapling of deodar on the occasion.
Justice Sureshwar Thakur, Justice Vivek Singh Thakur, Justice Sandeep Sharma, Justice C.B. Barowalia, Justice Jyotsna Rewal Dua, Justice Satyen Vaidya and Principal Chief Conservator Forest Savita also participated in the plantation drive.
Member Secretary State Legal Services Authority Prem Pal Ranta welcomed the chief guest and other dignitaries on the occasion.
Registrar General Virender Singh, Session Judges, Registrars, DFO Shimla Krishan Kumar and other government officers and officials were also present on the occasion.
