Himachal Pradesh State Election Commission has issued election programme to fill up the post of Pradhans of Development Block Totu and Chopal of district Shimla and Dharmpur Block of district Mandi and upto date casual vacancies occurred in recently constituted Panchayati Raj Institutions in the State.
Nomination papers shall be filled at designated places and before the officers appointed by the district election officers ( Panchayat) -cum-Deputy Commissioner on 22nd, 23rd and 24th March, 2021. The scrutiny of the nomination paper would be conducted on 25th March, 2021.
A spokesperson of State Election Commission informed here today that the candidate may withdraw his candidature on 27th March, 2021 between 11 A.M. to 3 P.M. Election symbols would be provided to the candidates immediately after the withdrawal of candidature is over on 27th March. He said that the election would be conducted on basis of independent election symbols and no candidate would be provided election symbol of their choice. The poll would be held from 8 A.M. to 4 P.M. on 7th April, 2021. The counting of votes for post of Pradhan, Up-Pradhan and Panchayat members would take place immediately after the close of the poll at Gram Panchayat headquarter.
The model code of conduct has come into force with immediate effect in the territorial jurisdiction in those panchayats where in election process has started.
The spokesperson said that in case the name of any voter is not in electoral roll, the person can enter his name till 15th March, 2021 by submitting form-2 in the office of district election officer (Panchayat) –cum- Deputy Commissioner.
