Chief Minister inaugurated PHC building at Daroh (level-II) in District Kangra constructed by spending Rs. 57.07 lakh, additional accommodation of Govt. Sr. Sec. School Pahra District Kangra constructed at a cost of Rs. 108.35 lakh, inaugurated Sub Tehsil Sullah, Flow Irrigation Scheme (FIS) Kathul Kuhal in Palampur constructed by spending Rs. 1.94 crore, FIS Book Kuhal in Palampur with an estimated cost of Rs. 1.47 crore, Lift Irrigation Scheme (LIS) for Sanhoon and adjoining village in Gram Panchayat Sanhoon in Palampur with an estimated cost of Rs. 1.16 crore. He also inaugurated Primary Health Centre at Maranda.
Chief Minister laid foundation stones of up-gradation of Dheera to Devi Tilla (Kanpatt) road under PMGSY-II (Batch-I) with an estimated cost of Rs. 10.92 crore, Chiran to Thirak road via village Devi Tilla including the bridge over Bathu Khad with an estimated cost of Rs. 8.61 crore, up-gradation of Pharer to Thamba road under PMGSY-II (Batch-I) with an estimated cost of Rs. 3.68 crore and link road Saprul to Harijan Basti Sanooh via Govt. Sr. Sec. School Sanooh with an estimated cost of Rs. 99.55 lakh.
Chief Minister laid foundation stones of Thakurdwara Ram Nagar Rajchar Tea Estate Godown Shiv Nagar colony Radha Krishan Mandir Himalaya via Tea Factory Saloh road with an estimated cost of Rs. 6.35 crore and LWSS to Gram Panchayat Roura under Jal Jeevan Mision in Palampur with an estimated cost of Rs. 1.52 crore.
He also laid foundation stones of LWSS to PC Habitants to village Bulla Mainja, Gardehar, Ghdela Kalan, Phulwar covered under Jal Jeevan Mission with an estimated cost of Rs. 2.89 crore, LWSS to PC Habitants to village Gharana Khas, Alsa, Badhrehar, Tamloh under Jal Jeevan Mission worth Rs 1.44 crore, LWSS Lahru Bachhwai in Palampur with an estimated cost of Rs. 2.44 crore, LWSS to PC Habitants in Gram Panchayat Kural, Sihotu and Marhoon under Jal Jeevan Mission under LWSS Lahru Bachhwai in Palampur with an estimated cost of Rs. 5.67 crore.
He also laid foundation stones of LWSS to PC Habitants of village Chowki Zona, Barsola Lahru, and Kiarwan under Jal Jeevan Mission under LWSS Lahru Bachhwai in Palampur with an estimated cost of Rs. 3.05 crore, WSS to Sullah Thamba Nanoun in Palampur with an estimated cost of Rs. 5.67 crore, foundation stone of ‘Har Ghar Nal’ for LWSS of PC habitation Heinja and adjoining habitations under Jal Jeevan Mission in Gram Panchayat Mansimbal Sihol and Boda in Palampur with an estimated cost of Rs. 5.62 lakh. He also laid the foundation stone of Water Supply Scheme for Gharoon and multi village for part of Bhawarna and Sullah Block in Palampur with an estimated cost of Rs. 13.02 crore and also of LWSS to Gram Panchayat Roura under Jal Jeevan Mission to be constructed by spending Rs 1.52 crore.
Earlier the Chief Minister inaugurated 120 metre span pre-stressed cantilever (both side) double lane bridge over Neugal Khad on Dharamshala Dadh Palampur Holtra Chadhiar Sandhol road in Palampur constructed by spending Rs. 10.25 crore.
While addressing a gathering on the occasion at Palampur, Chief Minister said that initially while visiting Kangra district, he was planning to perform foundation stones and inaugurations of developmental projects through video conference from Dharamshala. But it was on the request and assurance from the leaders of Kangra that they would ensure social distancing, so he decided to hold public meetings by ensuring social distancing, he added.
Chief Minister said that in order to start economic activities in the State, the Government decided to start public transport and also opened all business activities in the State. He said that the people still need to ensure that they adopt all safety measures to check the spread of this virus. He said that the opposition leaders were also trying to politicize even this pandemic crisis. When he was holding a meeting from his office at Shimla, these leaders alleged that the Chief Minister was avoiding meeting the people of the State. But now when he is out on tour to Kangra, the same leaders were alleging the Chief Minister for defying social distancing norms, he added.
Jai Ram Thakur said that steps taken by the State Government to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic were appreciated even by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the Leader of opposition was also making many baseless and uncalled allegations. He advised him to have a look at the situation in the Congress-ruled States like Punjab, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra where the situation was worst. He said that the State Government brought back about 2.50lakh people from different parts of the country and it was unfortunate that the Congress leaders were even opposing this move.
Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has succeeded in tackling the spread of coronavirus. He said that in fifteen most developed countries of the world with a total population of142 crore, over seven lakh deaths have been reported due to Corona, whereas in India with a total population of 135 crore, about 42000 death have been reported. He said that it was possible due to the timely steps taken by the Prime Minister.
Jai Ram Thakur said the abrogation of Article 370 was possible due to the strong political will power that today India is One Nation with One Constitution and One Flag. He said that the decision regarding Sri Ram Janambhumi has paved a way for the construction of a magnificent temple of Lord Ram. He said that we all were fortunate that we all were witness to the Bhumi Pujan of Lord Ram Temple at Ayodhya. Now the endeavor was to ensure ‘Ram Rajya’ in the country, he added.
Chief Minister said that the Centre and State Government has dedicated several schemes for the people of the Country and State which include Ayushman Bharat, HIMCARE, Ujjawala yojna and Grihini Suvidha Yojna, housing schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojna, Mukhyamantri Aawas Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Kissan Samman Nidhi yojna, Social Security Pension, Sahara Yojna, Jan Dhan Yojna etc.
Jai Ram Thakur assured the people of the area that all the developmental demands of the people of the area would be considered sympathetically.
Speaker Vidhan Sabha and local MLA Vipin Singh Parmar while welcoming the Chief Minister said that this day would go in the annals of Sullah Vidhan Sabha as a red-letter day as Chief Minister has dedicated developmental projects worth crores of Rupees for the area. He thanked the Chief Minister for inaugurating Sub Tehsil Sullah thereby meeting the long pending demand of the people of the area. He said that the Chief Minister has started several welfare and development-oriented schemes for the betterment of the people of the State. He also accused the opposition leaders of making baseless allegations against the present State Government. He also thanked the party functionaries for contributing Rs 35 lakh towards CM COVID Fund and PM CARES Fund. He also urged the Chief Minister to sanction a nature park or stadium at Manjha in Sullah Vidhan Sabha area.
