J&K RTO puts brake on Scooty license to the youth of 16-18 yrs.

Jammu 25th Sept:- As there are no two-wheelers below 50 CC are available in India, the Regional Transport authorities were earlier adopting an apparent practical approach and had been issuing driving licenses to 16-18 age group for riding gearless scooties with 100 CC engine capacity, which maximum youngsters, mostly girls are seen whizzing past.

The curious circumstance has emerged on account of uncertainty in the Central Motor Vehicle Act, which accommodates giving a permit to 16-18 age bunch for beneath 50 CC gearless bikes however no such bikes are accessible in India
