Chandigarh, October 12:
Continuing checking operations, the flying squads of the Punjab Transport Department today impounded 10 buses of tax evading private operators in five districts.
On the directions of the Transport Minister Mr. Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, the Secretaries of the Regional Transport Authorities of district Ludhiana, Hoshiarpur, Sangrur, SAS Nagar and Gurdaspur impounded two buses each in these five districts of private operators Rajdhani Bus Service, Hazara Bus Service etc. Secretary, RTA, Ludhiana also challaned four another buses for incomplete documents.
Meanwhile, Transport Minister Mr. Raja Warring, while directing the officers of the department to continue checking operation, said that anyone involved in illegal activities must be dealt sternly. He said that no stone would be left unturned to kick out the transport mafia running illegal business by squandering the public exchequer.
