HP CM launches Radio Orange

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing the launching ceremony of Shimla channel of Radio Orange and  ‘Business Excellence Awards 2021’ at Kufri, near Shimla today said that the radio has been the main mode of information and entertainment particularly in the hilly state like Himachal Pradesh.

Chief Minister said that this was a commendable effort by Radio Orange to honour and promote small, medium and large business entrepreneurs for their contribution to the society and its economic development. He said that this would go a long way in motivating the young entrepreneurs to work with greater dedication and commitment to excel in their respective field.

“My best wishes to the entrepreneurs who have contributed in taking the country’s economy and society forward” said the Chief Minister. He expressed hope the Radio Orange would not only entertain the people, but also spread education, knowledge and new information. He said that despite being the oldest broadcast media, even today radio remains a popular medium among the general public. He said that after the arrival of TV, the popularity of radio dropped a bit, but the FM Channels have revitalized radio and it has gained popularity amongst the masses in general and youth in particular.

Jai Ram Thakur said that in hilly state like Himachal, radio, especially FM, has become even more effective medium of communication. He said that  ‘Azadi movement’ to ‘Mann ki Baat’ radio has played an important role in our lives. He expressed hope that Orange FM would understand the environment and culture of Himachal and come up with meaningful and useful programs for the people.

Chief Minister honoured entrepreneurs on the occasion.

CEO Radio Orange Eno Majmundar welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion. She said that launched in the year 2016 Radio Orange has today spread its wings in 10 new Stations with lakhs of listeners.

Mayor Shimla Municipal Corporation Satya Kaundal, Director Information and Public Relations Harbans Singh Brascon, noted film personality Neha Dhupia were present on the occasion among others.
