Chandigarh, July 01:
The National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS) and its database are being migrated from NIC Cloud Meghraj, New Delhi to State Data Centre, Mohali, for better speed and efficiency in the property registration process, informed Ravneet Kaur, Additional Chief Secretary Revenue, Punjab.
Reviewing the progress in a meeting held in Committee Room, Punjab Civil Secretariat, ACS Revenue informed that the migration work is going smoothly and hopefully the entire process will be accomplished by July 05, 2021.
After sharing the necessary credentials and performing the test run by July 11, the new system will be functional from 12th July through State Data Centre, Mohali. The testing will be done for two days at the level of Sub Registrar Offices especially where number of registries per day is higher, divulged ACS.
It was informed that any updation required in NGDRS is done by NIC, Pune and the State has to contact NIC, Pune every time for any changes/development in NGDRS which causes unnecessary delay. Therefore, NIC Punjab was directed to explore the possibility to take the source code from NIC, Pune so that NIC, Punjab can update/tweak the software as and when required, in the public interest.
The meeting was attended the Sh. Manvesh Singh Sidhu, IAS, Secretary Revenue, Capt. Karnail Singh, IAS Additional Secretary Revenue, Sh. Parminder Pal Singh, Director Governance Reforms, Sh. Ajay Rampal and Sh. Vikram Grover State Informatics Officer and Additional State Informatics Officer NIC Punjab, respectively and other officials.
