Change to usher better speed and efficiency in property registration process- Ravneet Kaur, Additional Chief Secretary Revenue
Chandigarh, July 12:
The National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS) and its database has been migrated from NIC Cloud Meghraj, New Delhi to State Data Centre, Mohali informed Ravneet Kaur, Additional Chief Secretary Revenue, Punjab.
After sharing the necessary credentials the test run of the system was successfully conducted on July 11 by the Sub Registrars and the other field staff. The new system is functional from July 12 through State Data Centre, Mohali and the online services for registration of documents on website (https://igrpunjab.gov.in) has resumed said she. “The migration to State Data Centre will enhance the speed and efficiency of the property registration process and will provide big relief to all the stakeholders,” she added.
She informed that as of now any updation required in NGDRS is done by NIC, Pune and the State has to contact NIC, Pune every time for any changes or development in NGDRS. This causes unnecessary delay, therefore, Revenue department has asked NIC Punjab to explore the possibility of taking the source code from NIC, Pune so that local Informatics Centre can update or tweak the software as and when required, in the public interest. Hopefully, with the power to modify the system as per local requirement, the efficiency of the system would be further enhanced, said ACS.
