PUNJAB CM ANNOUNCES EX-GRATIA & JOB FOR FAMILY MEMBERS OF MARTYRS SEPOY PRABHJIT SINGH AND SEPOY AMARDEEP SINGH
Chandigarh, April 26: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Monday announced ex-gratia compensation of Rs. 50 lakh, along with a government job each to the family of Sepoy Prabhjit Singh and Sepoy Amardeep Singh of 21 PUNJAB, who laid down their lives in the line of duty yesterday.
Extending his sympathies with the bereaved families of the brave soldiers, Captain Amarinder Singh said that their utmost dedication to defend country’s unity and integrity, even putting their lives to risk would ever inspire their fellow soldiers to perform their duties with far more devotion and commitment. Reportedly, both the soldiers were killed in an avalanche in Siachen glacier.
Sepoy Prabhjit Singh, hailed from Village Hakamwala in Mansa district and is survived by his parents and one elder brother. While Sepoy Amardeep Singh, a native of village Karamgarh in Barnala District, is survived by his father and a younger sister.
The mortal remains of the martyrs would be reaching their native places from Leh April 27 (Tuesday), added the spokesperson.
