PUNJAB CM ANNOUNCES SLEW OF DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS FOR SRI CHAMKAUR SAHIB AND MORINDA

GREETS PEOPLE ON AUSPICIOUS OCCASION OF DUSSEHRA

Morinda, October 15:

The Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Friday announced a slew of development projects to ensure holistic growth of Sri Chamkaur Sahib and Morinda.

Addressing a public gathering on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra, the Chief Minister greeted the people and announced that the Community Health Centre at Chamkaur Sahib would be upgraded as the 100 bedded hospital and a trauma centre would soon come up at Morinda. He also announced to upgrade the animal husbandry dispensaries in the rural areas across the state to ensure better health care facilities in order to improve the quality of livestock so as to boost the income of dairy farmers. Channi also announced a seweage project for Morinda to be executed at cost of Rs. 42 crores besides Rs.28 crore canal based drinking water supply scheme also for Morinda, which has already been sanctioned. He also said the construction of Rs.114 Crore bridge over river Satluj in the region has already been started to link Bela -Paniali road to national highway 344-A to boost economic development in the area.

Later, the Chief Minister also set the effigy of Ravana ablaze to mark Dussehra celebrations. Channi further said that Dussehra reminds us the universal truth of virtue triumphing over darkness and this festival surpass communal barriers and provide an opportunity to the people to reinforce their bonds of brotherhood, amity and goodwill.

Revealing about the glorious heritage of the festival he said that Vijaydashmi strengthens our belief in the inevitability of the victory of righteousness over evil which further strengthens the spirit of harmony, brotherhood and tranquility among various segments of the people.

The Chief Minister a also appealed the people to celebrate this blissful occasion together with religious fervour rising above the parochial considerations of caste, colour and creed.
