In view of Assembly Polls, the Punjab Government on Friday declared paid holiday for employees working in the Shops & Commercial establishments and for workers working in the factories situated in the State of Punjab on 20 February 2022 (Sunday).
Informing about this here, an Official Spokesperson said that Department of Personnel has issued two various notifications in this regard. According these notifications, the Governor of Punjab is pleased to declare Sunday, falling on 20-02-2022 to be Closed day for all Shops and Commercial establishments located in the State of Punjab in lieu of Closed day falling on any day between 20-02-2022 and 26-02-2022.
He further said according to other notification, the Governor of Punjab has exempted all the factories situated in the State of Punjab wherein 20th February, 2022 is not a Closed day, from the operation for the week commencing from the 20th February, 2022 and ending on 26th February, 2022 and declare 20 February, 2022 a weekly holiday in lieu of their normal weekly holiday subject to the condition that no adult workers shall be required or allowed to work on the 20th February, 2022.
