Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr. OP Soni on Thursday reiterated that the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi has always been committed to solve the problems faced by the industrialists and traders in the state.
In the joint meeting organized by Sangrur District Industrial Chamber and Punjab Pradesh Vyapar mandal at Dhuri Mr. Soni presided over the meeting as Chief Guest along with MLA Dhuri Dalveer Singh Goldy.
Soni informed them that Punjab Government has so far solved 90 Per Cent problems of industrialists and traders and remaining are being addressed.
“Many notifications have been issued and the remaining will be done soon. Punjab government was paying special attention to the development of the industry in the state and the industrialists, traders will not face any difficulty in the state,” he said.
He further said that an investment of Rs. 1 lakh crore has been made in the state in the last four and half years which has not only strengthened the economy but also created better employment opportunities.
As many as 40,000 cases related to VAT of financial years 2015-16 and 2016-17 already scrapped. The remaining 8000 cases will be settled by depositing only 30 per cent of the total tax liability and traders and industrialists will have to deposit only 20 per cent of this 30 per cent liability during the current financial year and the remaining 80 per cent would be deposited by next year.
He also lauded the support extended by the industrialists to the state government during the Corona crisis. Mr. Soni said that the new industry policy implemented by the Punjab government was providing ample facilities to the industrialists.
He assured that the government was considering a state development tax on the demand raised by the industrialists. He said that he would soon take up the matter with the Punjab Chief Minister to address the issues raised by the industrialists today.
He said that the state was leading in terms of health facilities and the process of recruitment of doctors and other paramedical staff was in full swing and all the vacancies are being filled on priority basis.
During the meeting organized by Sangrur District Industrial Chamber and Punjab Pradesh Vyapar mandal, MLA Goldy said that he has been diligently working to solve the problems faced by the industrialists and traders and on behalf of the industrialists at all levels during the tenure of Covid.
Mr. Piara Lal Seth, President, Punjab Pradesh Vyapar mandal, Mr. Sameer Jain, General Secretary, Mr. Ghanshyam Kansal, President, Sangrur Industrial Chamber and Dr. AR Sharma, Block President Mr. Dhuri, Mr. Sanjeev Goyal and Mr. Jaswinder Singh Prince, District President of Trader thanked the Punjab Government for the facilities being provided to the industrialists and traders. These spokespersons said that the Channi government was meticulously addressing the problems faced by the various sections of the society and for which the government deserves appreciation. They also shared their problems and sought solutions. The Chief Guest Mr. Soni, MLA Mr. Goldie and other dignitaries were also felicitated by the organizers on the occasion.
On this occasion Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ramvir, SSP Mr. Swapan Sharma, SDM Mrs. Ismat Vijay Singh besides MP Singh, Sanjeev Chopra, Sanjeev Sood, Rajiv Makhan, Sandeep Bansal, Other industrialists, traders and officials including Vijay Mohan and Sunil Goel were also present.
