Punjab Scheduled Castes’ Commission takes suo-moto notice of casteist remarks against Chief Minister on social media
Directs Bureau of Investigation to take immediate action and submit report by September 29
Chandigarh, September 23:
The Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes, on Thursday, has taken suo-moto notice of the casteist remarks against the Chief Minister of the state on social media.
Divulging further, Commission Chairperson Mrs. Tejinder Kaur informed that on a facebook account, the handler had posted the most abusive and casteist remarks about the Chief Minister, Punjab, which went viral on social media.
Taking suo-moto notice of these remarks, the Chairperson has instructed the Director, Bureau of Investigation Punjab to take action under Section 3 (1) of the Prevention of Atrocities Act, 1989 and submit a report by September 29, 2021.
