Following the instructions of the Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes, the Punjab Vidhan Sabha has constituted a committee to implement the roster register.
Disclosing this here today, Mrs. Tejinder Kaur, Chairperson, Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes said that the employees belonging to the Scheduled Castes of Punjab Vidhan Sabha had complained to the Commission that they were not being given due benefit of reservation policy during their promotions.
She said that the matter was investigated by the Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes and the allegations were found to be true. She disclosed that the Commission had written to the Legislative Assembly to give due rights to the Scheduled Castes.
The Chairperson said that now the Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes has been informed in writing that a committee has been constituted by the Punjab Vidhan Sabha to implement the Roster Register.
