Chandigarh, August 26:
Punjab Transport Minister Ms. Razia Sultana handed over appointment letters to 170 candidates on compassionate ground at Punjab Bhawan, here, on Thursday. These candidates have been given jobs in Group C and Group D.
Wishing all the best to the newly appointed candidates, Ms Razia Sultana encouraged them to serve wholeheartedly, besides performing their duties with utmost honesty and sincerity so that the people would not face any problem in getting government services.
An official spokesperson said that out of the total candidates, 15 have been appointed as clerk (Group C) in the transport department, 8 have been appointed as workshop staff (Group C). 84 candidates have been given Group D jobs and 7 candidates have been appointed in Cooperative Society Punjab as Group C employees and 35 in Group D. Similarly, 21 candidates have been appointed in the Registrar Cooperative Society as a Group D employee.
Principal Secretary Transport K. Siva Prasad and Director State Transport Bhupinder Singh were also present during the event.
