School Education Secretary Instructs School Heads To Open Student Bank Accounts For Scholarships
SCHOOL EDUCATION SECRETARY INSTRUCTS SCHOOL HEADS TO OPEN STUDENT BANK ACCOUNTS FOR SCHOLARSHIPS
Chandigarh, July 12
The Punjab School Education Department has directed the school heads to open the bank accounts of the students so that they would not face any difficulty in getting the scholarship.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the school education department said that the school education secretary Mr. Krishan Kumar has issued a letter to the district education officers and school heads in this regard. According to the spokesperson, the scholarships are being given to the school children under various schemes but the scholarships go directly to their bank accounts. Therefore students receiving scholarships must have a bank account. In this context the education secretary has issued instructions to open a bank account of the students with zero balance so that no student would face any problem.
