Year long celebrations underway to mark 400th Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji: Channi
Chandigarh, February 11: The Punjab Government today organised students sangeet programme ‘Manukhta da Rehbar Guru Tegh Bahadur’ dedicated to 400th Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji online which was organised by the Youth Welfare Department, Panjab University at Ramgarhia Girls College, Ludhiana.
The Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi briefing about the events said that the Punjab Government in the leadership of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh is organising a series of programmes on the 400th Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji on the theme of ‘Hind Di Chadar’. He said that these programmes are being held to disseminate the eternal teachings of love, compassion, religious tolerance and selfless sacrifice which have been assigned to various departments, Universities, Punjab Arts Council, Sangeet Natak Academy and North Zone Cultural Centre. He further said that these programmes were started from February 1 and will continue till February 26. As per the schedule, two webinars have already been organised by the Punjabi University, Patiala on February 1 and February 2 and speech competition was conducted by Punjab School Education Department from February 1 to February 9.
Mr. Channi said that in the coming days such more programmes, webinars, plays and lectures would be held online which include Indian Poetry Utsav which will be organised by Punjab Arts Council on 12th February, Play Suraj Da Qatal by Punjab Sangeet Natak Akademi on 14th February, Painting Competition and Exhibition by department of Fine Arts, Punjabi University, Patiala on 17th February, Shabad Gayan by North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala on 17th February, Webinar: Sangeet Sammelan on Mridange and Pakhawaj by department of Dance, Punjabi University, Patiala on 18th February, Students Poetry Utsav by Punjab Arts Council on 19th February, Online Lecture by department of History & Centre for Studies on Guru Granth Sahib, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar on 20th February and Webner on Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji: Life and Legacy by department of Punjab Historical Studies, Punjabi University Patiala on 26th February.
Disclosing about the online students sangeet programme held today Mr. Nirmal Jaura Director Youth Welfare Panjab University said that students from 12 colleges associated with Panjab University, Chandigarh participated in the event. Dr. Tejinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Director Education, S.G.P.C, Dr. Vivek Ranjan Sinha, Dean University Instructions, Panjab University and Dr. Sanjay Kaushik also present their views during the online event.
