Chandigarh, April 21:
The Government agencies and private Traders have procured 516500 metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab on tweleveth day of procurement.
Disclosing this here today, an official Spokesperson said that out of the total 516500 procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 516318 MT of wheat 182 MT has been procured by the private traders (arhtias).
He further said that PUNGRAIN has procured 121323 metric tonnes, MARKFED 129166 metric tonnes and PUNSUP procured 107478 metric tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation 63269 MT wheat respectively. The Centre government agancy FCI has procured 53628 MT wheat. Apart from this Pungrain Procured 41454 MT wheat for public distribution in the Punjab.
Progressive procurement by all the procuring agency is 6058780 MT.
