Vigilance nabs SDM’s reader for taking bribe Rs. 20,000

Chandigarh, December 13: Punjab Vigilance Bureau, today nabbed Randeep Singh, posted as reader in the office of Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Budladha, Mansa district red handed accepting bribe of Rs 20,000.

Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the State Vigilance Bureau said accused reader was arrested on the complaint of Gurjeet Singh of village Tahlian, in Budladha tehsil. The complainant has informed the VB that the accused reader was demanding bribe of Rs. 20,000 to help him for getting compensation regarding his shop.

After verifying his information, a vigilance team laid a trap and the accused reader was arrested on the spot while taking bribe of Rs. 20,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.

He informed that a case under section of prevention of corruption act has been registered against him at VB police station, Bathinda and further investigation is under progress.
