As per the order No. DMiMAI2020/7293 dated 23-03-2020 in the exercise of powers conferred under Section 144 Cr. PC was imposed in the District till further orders for the containment and prevention of the spread of COVID 19.
The order says that subsequently, exemptions were given to the general public whereas, the home delivery mechanism of the essential items has been now further strengthened.
As per the DM UT, Mandip Singh Brar Order now, there is no perceptible rush in the markets. There is no more panic in the general public regarding the supply of essential items.
Whereas, given the fact that the danger of COVID-19 is imminent, it is imperative to put in place strict measures of isolation and social distancing to contain the spread of COVID-19, which causes a danger to human life, health, and safety.
Mandip Singh Brar exercising the powers conferred under Section 144 of the Cr. PC hereby order that one person from every house will be allowed to step out of their houses on foot between 11 AM to 3:00 PM daily till further orders, to visit their nearest shops or supermarkets selling grocery/Kiryana. fruits & vegetables, eggs. meat & fish, milk, chemist. etc which are hereby allowed to remain open during this exemption period for direct sale.
The timings for these shops to cater to home delivery will be fixed separately by the appropriate authority/authorities. Rest of the conditions of the order dated 27-03-2020 shall remain the same.
Any breach of the order shall invite action under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code. It is reiterated that social distancing norms must be strictly adhered to by the shopkeepers as well as by the general public. Executive Magistrates, Police and Sector Response Teams will also ensure the strict enforcement of social distancing norms as prescribed by the Health Department. This order shall come into force immediately until further orders.
