The last month of the Gregorian calendar, December is one of the most beautiful months in almost all of India and also With a quiet cold, suffused with pleasant sunshine. These exciting places in the winter season can turn your regular trip into a new discovery. There are some best places to visit India in December winters.

1.Goa

Goa is the smallest state in India known for its brilliant beaches, scrumptious food, and Portuguese heritage. the capital city  Panjim, located in the center is well-connected with an international airport and roads and trains run from North to South part of Goa. It has numerous beaches that attract millions of visitors. Baga and Calangute are more popular among the Indian family crowd,  Arambol and Anjuna draw a lot of foreign tourists. Beaches in Goa are relatively lesser explored, but some of them like Agonda and Palolem are more beautiful.

Goa boasts of beautiful architecture from the colonial era with many churches and old-style bungalows. All the people are quite friendly towards tourists and celebrate many festivals throughout the year. Goa is one of the best nightlife in the country with trendy bars, beach shacks, elegant cafes, and many clubs.

2.Shimla, Himachal Pradesh

Shimla is a beautiful place and also known as the Queen of Hills, Shimla is a winter spectacle from December until February. Crowds flock here to enjoy the snow, ice skating at the open-air ice skating rink, walking amidst the pine trees, and marveling at the remains of the Colonial era architecture, as this once served as the summer capital of British India.

Narkanda,  The surrounding snow-laden peaks, and the winter sun come together to make it a winter wonderland. Skiing and hiking up the Shivalik ranges and apple orchards among the favorite activities here.

Uttar Pradesh is a place that not only boasts of a scintillating view of the Himalayas but also exhibits a cultural ethos that speaks of a simplistic and harmonic coexistence with nature. With oaks, birches, silver firs and rhododendrons adorning the steep mountain slopes, Uttarakhand offers you a glimpse into an untainted and idyllic world.

Uttarakhand is a very popular pilgrimage site, as it is the originating spot of the Ganga and the Yamuna, two of the most sacred rivers for Hindus. Uttarakhand is home to the Char Dhams, the four most pious sites of pilgrimage revered by the Hindus, Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. Many tourists visit Uttarakhand annually to pay homage to the Char Dhams. 4.Jammu 

A land of grand ancient temples and beautiful palaces, Jammu is known as the ‘City of Temples’.

Jammu was ruled over by the Dogra dynasty in the pre-independence era. The weather of Jammu is not as cool as Srinagar so keep that in mind. You can buy walnuts and handloom from the bazaars in Jammu while you are in the city.

5.Kerala

Kerala is famous for Ayurvedic spas, backwaters, beaches, hills, verdant greenery, tea and spice plantations, diversity of flora and fauna, traditional culture and cuisine, Kerala is one of the popular destinations in India.  the many national parks, like Periyar National Park, Silent Valley National Park or Eravikulam National Park; for those people who want an adrenaline rush, try surfing at Varkala and Kovalam beaches, paragliding at Vagamon, boating in the Kerala backwaters or trekking at Chembra Peak, Anamudi or in the Dhoni hills. Those wanting to spend some time in nature’s midst, head straight to Munnar, Aleppey backwaters or Wayanad. Besides, there are a plethora of historical and cultural sites across Kerala to feed your appetite for culture and history.
