Universities launch outreach campaign to increase intake
Universities are starting a student outreach campaign to get more students to join them for the 2026-27 school year.
This is happening because Universities and government colleges in India are facing a lot of competition from universities and students are changing what they want.
The people in charge of getting students are going to schools and talking to students who are in Class 12. They want to tell these students about the courses they offer and the scholarships they have. They also want to tell them about the jobs they can get after they finish their studies and what the campus is like.
The government has told colleges to tell students about their programmes and get more students to join. They have given colleges targets for how students they should get and they want them to fill most of their seats. Colleges that did well year are being asked to get even more students this year.
Universities are not just visiting schools they are also using sessions to give students advice about their careers. They are having seminars to tell students about admissions. They are using social media and help desks to talk to students who might want to join.
The people in charge think that this will help students know more about what they can study and get them to apply to these colleges.
This campaign is also meant to help with the National Education Policy from 2020. This policy wants to get more students to join colleges and make sure they get an education.
Experts in education think that talking to students before they apply can help reduce confusion and get more students to join.
The student outreach campaign will help universities get students to join them for the 2026-27 school year.
