Chandigarh: The Haryana government has blacklisted 1,107 private schools across the state. It has also stopped these schools from taking new admissions for the 2026-27 academic session. Officials took this step after many schools failed to meet the state’s recognition rules and did not follow the Right to Education (RTE) Act.

The School Education Department carried out a detailed review before taking action. During the inspection, officials found that many schools had not submitted the required documents. Some schools also failed to meet basic standards related to infrastructure, staff qualifications, and student welfare.

The remaining districts also have schools on the blacklist.

Schools Got Enough Time to Comply

The Education Department says it gave schools several chances to meet the rules. Around 413 schools received extra time to submit their documents and complete the recognition process.

However, many schools still failed to meet the required standards. As a result, the government included them in the final list.
