District Development Commissioner Doda, Dr Sagar D Doifode today reviewed Credit Debit ratio of banks besides chairing District Level Review Committee meeting of officers of banking and civil departments to discuss the achievements against the targets of banking sector.
It was informed in the meeting that up to the 30th of September, banks have extended a total credit of Rs 255.12 crore in favour both under priority as well as non priority sectors of economy during the Financial Year 2019-20 up to 30th September 2019 thereby achieving 51.28% of the ACP target, and the CD Ratio of district has been increased by 8.39% and stands on 46.87%.
DDC directed the bankers to redouble their efforts and initiate concrete steps for lending towards priority sectors to achieve set targets in Annual Credit Plan besides improving the CD ratio of the district from 46.87% to national target of 60%.
DDC directed the bankers to ensure 100% coverage of eligible farmers under KCC whereas agriculture officer was directed to organise awareness camps to sensitize the farmers about the benefits of schemes.
He directed all the banks to take effective measures for ensuing loans especially in Agriculture, Education, Housing and employment sector so that the majority of the population would be facilitated under various schemes besides providing KCC to the farmers.
While reviewing the grant of education loans the DDC was apprised that banks have sanctioned 345 cases with an outstanding of 427.22 lacs upto the quarter.
He has asked the respective banks to organise special camps for the students across the district to aware them especially about education loans.
DDC directed the bankers to provide loans under MUDHRA, NRLM, PMEGP KVIB, DIC, KVIC besides effectively implementing financial assistance schemes to people for establishing their business units.
Further reviewing the measures taken towards attaining the objective of doubling of farmers income, the DDC Doda said that there is a need to motivate the big farmers to shift their approach from government assistance to the banking sector for the rural and agriculture development.
In this regard DDC directed the agriculture department to organise a conference of eligible big farmers of the district and try to motivate them for the promotion of food processing unit and for investing in warehousing and cold chains, besides ask the bank to provide assistance to them in establishing these projects for the development of agriculture sector in Doda.
