Women Farmers Felicitated under BBBP Scheme in Samba
Samba:— District Administration Samba in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture, Samba celebrated International Women Day under central Sponsored Scheme Beti Bachao Beti Padhao for the empowerment and upliftment of women on 07-03-2020 at Ghagwal.
The programme was presided over by the District Development Commissioner, Samba Sh. Rohit Khajuria (KAS) and also participated by Chief Planning Officer, Samba Madam Sukhleen Kour, Block Development Committee Chairman, Ghagwal Sh Vijay Tagotra, Sub District Magistrate, Ghagwal Sh. Ramkesh Sharma, Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer, Samba Sh. Tilak Raj Sharma, Subject Matter Specialist Smt. Karuna Nidhi, Subject Matter Specialist Dr. Aadil Rashid, Agriculture Extension Officer Ghagwal Sh. R.C. Pandoh, Agriculture Extension Officer Rehyian Sh. Gurdeep Singh, Agriculture Extension Officer Samba Sh. Surinder Mishra, Agriculture Extension Officer Rajpura Sh. R.P.Singh, Sarpanches, Panches and Progressive Women farmers of district samba.
While addressing the gathering of the District Development Commissioner, Samba emphasized the need for more involvement of women in the farming and empowerment and upliftment of women. District Development Commissioner, Samba also distribute awards among the progressive women farmer who did excellent and outstanding works in the field of agriculture sector along with cash award of Rs 2100/- per awardee for 25 progressive farming women and also distributed twenty no. of women Gender Friendly Tool Kits to boost the organic farming.
In the programme Chief Planning Officer, Samba, Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer, Samba, Subject Matter Specialists, Samba, Block Development Committee Chairman, Agriculture Extension Officer’s of various Zones also spoke on the Empowerment and Upliftment of women and explained various schemes implemented by the department of agriculture for the welfare of the farming community.
