The much awaited elections of Hisar District Bar Association will be held on June 12 and a prolonged wait for the legal fraternity for new leadership is over.
The election will take place between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM and advocates registered with the association will be able to vote during the day. The count will be started as soon as polls are over and will be published shortly after.
The elections are important for the legal community in Hisar because the Bar Association acts as the guardian of the interests of advocates and fulfills various functions in terms of the functioning of courts and legal services.
Election activities have picked up in the district with the announcement of the date of the elections. Candidates and their supporters have stepped up outreach to other candidates and supporters as well as to other advocates, and have shared their ideas for the association’s future.
The legal community is hoping that the elections will shore up the association and begin to resolve a number of professional issues confronting lawyers in the district. The democratic exercise is expected to see enthusiastic involvement from advocates, an indication of the need to have good leadership within the organisation.
