Three Workers Die in Faridabad Crane Collapse at Expressway Construction Site

A tragic accident at a construction site in Faridabad claimed the lives of three workers after a giant crane collapsed during flyover construction work linked to the Jewar Expressway project.

The accident occurred near Panhera Khurd village in the Chhainsa area. According to officials, the crane toppled while workers carried out construction activities at the site. The crane fell onto a container that workers used as a temporary office and rest area.

Several workers were inside the container when the accident happened. Rescue teams reached the site soon after receiving information about the collapse. Police personnel, local authorities, and emergency responders immediately launched a rescue operation.

Officials confirmed that three workers died in the accident. Rescue teams also pulled one injured worker from the debris and shifted him to a nearby hospital for treatment. Emergency crews used heavy machinery and gas cutters to remove the wreckage and search for trapped workers.

Early reports suggest that heavy rainfall may have played a role in the accident. Rain had made the ground muddy and unstable. Witnesses said the crane lost balance while lifting construction material and crashed onto the container below.

Representatives from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), local administration, and police visited the site to review the situation. Following the accident, officials halted construction work in the area.
