Pinjore-Baddi NH Four-Laning Project Back on Track, Bids to Open on June 16

The long-awaited four-laning of the Pinjore-Baddi National Highway has moved a step closer to implementation, with the bidding process scheduled to open on June 16. The development has renewed hopes for faster completion of a project considered crucial for improving connectivity between Himachal Pradesh and neighbouring regions.

Officials associated with the project said the opening of bids marks a significant milestone after delays that had slowed progress in recent years. The highway serves as a key route connecting the industrial hub of Baddi with Pinjore in Haryana and is frequently used by commercial vehicles, industrial transport operators, and daily commuters.

The proposed four-laning is expected to ease traffic congestion, improve road safety, and reduce travel time along the busy corridor. Rapid industrial growth in Baddi and increasing vehicular movement have placed considerable pressure on the existing road infrastructure, leading to frequent bottlenecks and concerns over transportation efficiency.

Authorities believe the upgraded highway will support industrial development by ensuring smoother movement of goods and improving access to manufacturing units located in the region. The project is also expected to benefit local businesses and residents by enhancing connectivity and reducing transportation-related challenges.

Infrastructure experts have long highlighted the importance of widening the route to accommodate rising traffic volumes. The project’s revival is being viewed as a positive step toward addressing long-standing demands from industry stakeholders and commuters.

With the bid-opening process set for June 16, attention will now focus on the selection of contractors and the commencement of construction activities. Once completed, the four-lane highway is expected to significantly strengthen regional transport infrastructure and contribute to economic growth in one of North India’s important industrial corridors.
