The Kaithal district administration has recognized and honoured donors who contributed books and study materials to the ‘Gyan Daan Book Bank’, an initiative launched to help students who cannot afford educational resources. The programme was started under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Aparajita with the objective of ensuring that no student is deprived of quality learning material due to financial constraints.
The book bank has been established at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) on Jind Road, Kaithal. Citizens, teachers, government employees, and officials have actively participated in the campaign by donating books for school education, competitive examinations, and entrance tests such as UPSC, HPSC, NEET, JEE, CUET, CET, banking exams, Sainik School entrance tests, and Olympiads. Within a short period, nearly 1,000 books were collected, reflecting the strong public response to the initiative.
To encourage social participation, the administration honoured donors and contributors who supported the cause. Deputy Commissioner Aparajita herself set an example by donating around 100 books and urged society to develop a culture of “Gyan Daan” (donation of knowledge). She emphasized that every unused book can become a valuable resource for a deserving student and help transform lives through education.
The administration also plans to introduce a mobile application for maintaining records of donors and books, ensuring transparency in the distribution process. Through this initiative, Kaithal aims to promote educational equality, encourage community participation, and provide students with the resources needed to achieve academic success.
