Turkish authorities have detained 209 people in a sweeping series of security operations across Ankara ahead of the NATO summit scheduled for July 7–8. The coordinated raids were carried out as part of an extensive effort to enhance security in the Turkish capital before the arrival of world leaders and senior officials for one of the alliance’s most important meetings of the year.
According to officials, police and security forces conducted simultaneous operations at multiple locations throughout the city.
