Nitin Nabin Hints at Possibility of Alliance

Chandigarh: Punjab BJP president Nitin Nabin has indicated that the possibility of a future alliance with the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) cannot be ruled out. His remarks have reignited discussions about political equations ahead of the next Assembly elections in Punjab.

When asked about a potential alliance, Nabin said the party would take a decision when the appropriate time arrives. He, however, did not make any commitment regarding future electoral arrangements.

BJP Focused on Strengthening Organisation

Nabin said the BJP is currently concentrating on expanding its organisational network across Punjab. He added that the party is working to strengthen its presence at the grassroots level and connect with more voters.

Moreover, BJP leaders believe the party has steadily increased its influence in the state. Therefore, the focus remains on building a stronger political base before the next major election.

Alliance Speculation Returns

The BJP and the Shiromani Akali Dal shared a long political partnership before ending their alliance in 2020 over differences related to the now-repealed farm laws.

However, political observers have continued to speculate about the possibility of renewed cooperation between the two parties. Nabin’s latest remarks have added fresh momentum to those discussions.

Akali Dal Yet to Respond

Meanwhile, the Shiromani Akali Dal has not issued any formal response to Nabin’s comments. Party leaders have repeatedly stated that they are focused on rebuilding their organisation and reconnecting with voters across Punjab.

In addition, several opposition parties continue to closely monitor developments involving the BJP and Akali Dal because any future alliance could influence Punjab’s political landscape.

Political Calculations Ahead of Elections

With the next Assembly elections approaching, political parties have started evaluating possible strategies and partnerships. While no formal talks have been announced, Nabin’s statement suggests the BJP is keeping its options open.

As a result, speculation surrounding a potential BJP-Akali alliance is likely to continue in the coming months as parties prepare for future electoral battles in Punjab.
