In a remarkable act of generosity, the organs of a brain-dead man in Chandigarh have helped save the lives of three patients, highlighting the life-changing impact of organ donation and the coordinated efforts of healthcare professionals involved in transplantation.
According to hospital authorities, the donor was declared brain-dead after suffering severe injuries and despite intensive medical treatment, doctors were unable to reverse the damage. Brain death was confirmed through a series of medical examinations conducted in accordance with legal and clinical protocols prescribed under India’s organ transplantation framework.
Following counseling by organ donation coordinators, the donor’s family consented to donate his organs, allowing multiple patients awaiting transplants to receive a second chance at life.
