Farmers across Haryana are facing delays in obtaining their Unique Farmer IDs due to technical issues and discrepancies in the state’s online land records portal. The glitches have slowed the verification process, preventing many eligible farmers from completing their registrations and accessing government welfare schemes.
The Unique Farmer ID initiative is aimed at creating a comprehensive digital database of farmers in Haryana to ensure transparent and efficient delivery of subsidies, crop insurance, financial assistance, and other agriculture-related benefits. However, errors in digitized land records have become a major hurdle in the implementation of the system.
According to officials, several applications are pending because land ownership details available on the online portal do not match the information submitted by applicants. In some cases, land records are incomplete, while in others, updates made in the revenue records have not been synchronized with the digital portal, leading to verification failures.
Farmers have expressed concern over the prolonged delays, saying they have made multiple visits to Common Service Centres (CSCs) and revenue offices to resolve the issues. Many applicants claim that even after correcting their land records, the changes are not reflected online, forcing them to resubmit applications repeatedly.
Officials from the Agriculture and Revenue Departments have acknowledged the technical challenges and said work is underway to rectify data discrepancies and improve coordination between the land records database and the Unique Farmer ID portal. They have assured farmers that efforts are being made to speed up the verification process.
Authorities have advised farmers to verify their land ownership details, Aadhaar information, and other required documents before applying for the Unique Farmer ID. They have also urged applicants to immediately report any errors in land records so that corrections can be processed without unnecessary delays.
The Haryana government is aiming to complete the Unique Farmer ID registration drive as quickly as possible, as the digital identity will play a key role in ensuring that government benefits reach genuine beneficiaries in a transparent and timely manner. Once the portal-related issues are resolved, officials expect the issuance of Unique Farmer IDs to accelerate across the state.
