Patiala Police have arrested five alleged associates of gangster Goldy Dhillon during a special operation aimed at curbing organized crime and illegal weapons networks in Punjab. Authorities said the operation resulted in the recovery of firearms, ammunition, and other materials believed to be linked to criminal activities.
According to police officials, the arrests were made following intelligence inputs and surveillance regarding the movement of individuals allegedly connected to the Goldy Dhillon gang. Acting on the information, police teams conducted targeted raids and search operations at multiple locations in and around Patiala district. The suspects were apprehended without any reported exchange of fire.
Senior Punjab Police officials stated that investigators had been monitoring the activities of the accused for some time. Preliminary inquiries suggest that the arrested individuals allegedly played various roles within the gang’s network. Police have alleged their involvement in activities such as extortion, illegal arms possession, intimidation, and providing logistical support to organized crime operations. These allegations remain under investigation and have not been established in court.
During the operation, police reportedly recovered illegal firearms, ammunition, mobile phones, and other evidence that may assist investigators in tracing the gang’s activities and contacts. Forensic examination of the seized items is expected to be conducted as part of the investigation.
Patiala Police officials said cases are being registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Arms Act, and other applicable laws. Authorities are also examining whether the accused were wanted in previous criminal cases or linked to other ongoing investigations across Punjab.
The arrests are part of broader efforts by Punjab Police to dismantle gang networks and curb organized crime. In recent years, law enforcement agencies have intensified operations against criminal groups involved in extortion, drug trafficking, illegal weapons supply, and violent offenses.
Security analysts described the operation as a significant step toward improving public safety. Investigators are expected to question the accused regarding their alleged associates, financial networks, weapons suppliers, and possible links to other criminal organizations. Police officials indicated that further arrests and recoveries may follow as the investigation progresses.
