Women stabbed to death in Mohali

Mohali, June 5: A tragic incident in Mohali’s Sector 66 has left the city in shock after a woman was allegedly murdered by her former partner inside her workplace. The accused reportedly attacked the victim with a sharp-edged weapon before attempting to take his own life.

According to police officials, the victim and the accused had been in a relationship in the past. Investigators suspect that personal differences and the end of the relationship may have played a role in the attack. Preliminary findings indicate that the accused was unable to accept the separation and had been emotionally disturbed in recent months.

The incident occurred inside a private company’s office during working hours. Witnesses stated that the man entered the premises and confronted the woman before launching the assault. Employees present at the office were left stunned as the attack unfolded, prompting immediate calls for help.

The woman sustained severe injuries and was rushed for medical treatment. However, doctors later declared her dead. Police sources revealed that the victim suffered multiple stab wounds, resulting in fatal blood loss.

Following the attack, the accused allegedly injured himself in an apparent suicide attempt. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he remains under medical care. Authorities have placed him under police watch and said formal legal action will proceed once his condition stabilizes.

Senior police officers visited the scene and initiated a detailed investigation. CCTV footage from the office and statements from witnesses are being examined to establish the complete sequence of events. Investigators are also looking into whether there were previous disputes, threats, or complaints linked to the relationship.

The case has once again highlighted concerns regarding relationship-related violence and the need for stronger awareness, timely intervention, and support systems to prevent such incidents. Further investigation is underway, and police are expected to file additional charges based on the evidence collected.
