Residents Wait for Rain as Heat Tightens Its Grip
The wait for the southwest monsoon is becoming increasingly difficult for people across Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana. With rain clouds yet to bring widespread relief, temperatures have once again climbed across the region, leaving residents to battle hot and humid conditions.
Weather experts say the delayed arrival of the monsoon has allowed daytime temperatures to remain above normal in several districts. The rising mercury, combined with high humidity levels, has made outdoor activities uncomfortable, especially during afternoon hours. Similar conditions were observed in previous years when the monsoon approached the region but rainfall remained scattered.
Farmers Keep a Close Watch on Weather Updates
The prolonged dry spell has also increased concerns among farmers. Many are waiting for consistent rainfall before moving ahead with key agricultural activities. Punjab and Haryana, known as India’s agricultural heartland, depend heavily on timely monsoon showers for sowing and crop growth.
