Mohali-Ambala Highway Project Set to Slash Travel Time by 30 Minutes
Newly constructed multi-lane highway stretching through open countryside, representing improved road connectivity and faster travel between cities.

Mohali: Travelling between Mohali and Ambala could soon become much quicker, with authorities aiming to open the remaining stretch of the Greenfield Highway project by October. Once operational, the new route is expected to reduce travel time by nearly 30 minutes and provide a smoother driving experience for commuters.

The highway will offer a faster alternative to the busy Chandigarh-Ambala road, helping motorists avoid frequent traffic jams and urban bottlenecks. Officials believe the project will significantly improve connectivity for people travelling between Punjab, Haryana, and nearby regions.

Construction work on the corridor has progressed steadily over the past few months, and authorities are working to complete the final sections on schedule. The project forms an important part of efforts to modernise road infrastructure and ease pressure on existing routes that witness heavy daily traffic.

The new road is expected to bring relief to commuters who regularly face delays around Mohali, Zirakpur, and Derabassi. By reducing congestion and improving traffic flow, the corridor will make travel safer and more efficient for both private vehicles and commercial transport.

Business groups and transport operators have also welcomed the development, saying better road connectivity can boost trade and economic activity across the region. Once the highway becomes fully operational, travellers heading towards Ambala, Delhi, and other destinations are likely to benefit from shorter journey times and smoother road conditions.
