Security Forces Launch Major Border Operation
Pakistan’s security forces have killed 29 militants during a major counterterrorism operation along the country’s border with Afghanistan. Information Minister Atta Tarar said the military first carried out a ground operation before launching calibrated strikes against militant positions. The operation targeted areas where security agencies had identified suspected militant activity. As a result, officials described the mission as one of the largest recent operations in the border region.
Military Targets Militant Hideouts
According to the government, security personnel acted after receiving intelligence about the presence of armed militants near the border. Troops launched a coordinated ground assault and later carried out precision strikes on suspected hideouts. Moreover, officials said the operation aimed to eliminate militant networks and prevent future attacks. Security forces also recovered weapons and ammunition during the mission.
Government Strengthens Border Security
The Pakistani government has intensified security measures in border areas following a rise in militant activity. Authorities continue to conduct intelligence-based operations to improve stability and protect civilians. Meanwhile, security agencies remain on high alert to prevent infiltration and cross-border attacks. Officials have also increased surveillance across sensitive locations near the frontier.
Regional Security Remains a Key Concern
The Pakistan-Afghanistan border has witnessed frequent security challenges in recent years. Therefore, both countries continue to face pressure to improve border management and counter militant movements. Analysts believe sustained cooperation and stronger security measures will play a vital role in maintaining peace in the region.
