Moga, Punjab: A protest was held in Cheeda village by residents and various farmer, labour, and social organisations demanding the immediate arrest of the accused involved in the murder of young man Jaskaran Singh alias Gaggu.
Jaskaran Singh was allegedly shot dead in Sukh Anand village, after which anger spread among his family members and local residents. The protesters gathered in Cheeda village and raised slogans against the Punjab government and police administration, demanding quick action against those responsible.
During the protest, speakers said that the accused involved in the murder were still outside the reach of the police, increasing frustration among the victim’s family and villagers. They demanded a fair investigation and strict punishment for all named and unidentified suspects connected to the case.
The protesters also raised concerns about criminal activities and alleged that a lack of strict action against elements involved in illegal activities has contributed to such incidents. They urged the administration to ensure justice for the victim’s family.
The protest leaders warned that if the police do not take immediate action, they will intensify their movement and organise larger demonstrations. They said the responsibility for any further escalation would lie with the administration.
Family members of the deceased, social organisation leaders, village representatives, and a large number of residents attended the protest. The atmosphere remained emotional as people paid tribute to Jaskaran Singh and continued to demand justice.
