Punjab Colleges Begin Second Round of UG Admissions; Counselling Continues Till July 3

Colleges across Punjab have stepped up undergraduate admission activities for the 2026–27 academic session. Government and private colleges affiliated with state universities are seeing a rise in student participation after the release of merit lists. The second round of counselling is now underway, giving thousands of applicants another opportunity to secure admission.

The Department of Higher Education, Punjab, has started the second round of centralized counselling. Students who did not receive a seat in the first round, or those wishing to upgrade their course or college, can participate in this phase. The counselling process will continue until July 3. After that, colleges will conduct open counselling to fill the remaining vacant seats.

Admissions are taking place through Punjab’s centralized online portal, which covers more than 100 government and private colleges. Courses such as B.A., B.Com., B.Sc., BBA, and BCA continue to receive the highest number of applications. Commerce and computer-related programmes remain the most popular choices among students this year.

College authorities have advised applicants to check their admission portal regularly. Students should keep track of seat allotments, document verification dates, and fee payment deadlines. Candidates must complete the verification process and pay the required admission fee within the given time. Missing the deadline may lead to the cancellation of the allotted seat.

Universities across Punjab are also preparing for the new academic session. Many institutions are finalizing orientation programmes, faculty schedules, and student support services. Colleges are upgrading their digital admission systems to make the enrolment process faster and more convenient. Dedicated admission help desks have also been set up to guide students through counselling, registration, and document verification.

Education experts believe the centralized admission system has made the process more transparent and student-friendly. It allows candidates to apply to multiple colleges through a single online platform. Officials expect most undergraduate seats to be filled before classes begin in July.

Students waiting for seat allotment should regularly check official admission notifications. They should also keep all required documents ready to avoid delays during the final admission process.
