# Punjab Municipal Election Results 2026: Aam Aadmi Party Registers Landslide Victory Congress Holds Ground as Shiromani Akali Dal Eyes Revival
The Aam Aadmi Party has won the Punjab Municipal Elections 2026 in a way. The party has done well in the urban areas of Punjab. This win is a boost for the Aam Aadmi Party before the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections.
People voted for 102 local bodies. These include 8 Municipal Corporations, 75 Municipal Councils and 19 Nagar Panchayats. The votes were counted with security. The results show that the Aam Aadmi Party is leading in areas.
The final results are out. The Aam Aadmi Party won 954 wards. This is a win for the party. The Congress party came second with 393 wards. The Shiromani Akali Dal got 192 wards. The Bharatiya Janata Party won 172 wards. Many independent candidates also did well. Won 251 wards. The Bahujan Samaj Party won seven wards.
The Aam Aadmi Parties big win is because people like what the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab Government’s doing. The party won important areas. This means the Aam Aadmi Party is strong in the areas of Punjab.
The Congress party did not do well as the Aam Aadmi Party.. It is still the main opposition party. The party won seats in different areas. People who follow politics think the Congress party still has supporters. It can be an opponent in future elections.
The Shiromani Akali Dal did a little better in these elections. The party is trying to regain the trust of voters. It has not done well in elections.. This time it got more seats than before.
The Bharatiya Janata Party is trying to get stronger in Punjab areas. It did not do well as the Aam Aadmi Party.. It won some areas. The party will use these wins to get stronger before the Assembly elections.
